Conte hails Chelsea intensity

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte was pleased with his side's performance in the 2-0 victory over Brighton on Tuesday and hopes their form continues.

Morata toiled for scant reward as Chelsea were rebuffed during a frustrating opening 45 minutes but he gleefully headed home a pinpoint Cesar Azpilicueta delivery - the sixth time his countryman has supplied an assist to him this season - within a minute of the restart.

With second-placed Manchester United drawing 2-2 at home to Burnley, Chelsea managed to close the gap between themselves and the Red Devils to a solitary point and Conte insisted that there was plenty still to play for, despite Manchester City's dominance at the top of the Premier League.

"We had many chances to improve the final result but I think I saw good intensity and great commitment from my players". "I don't know if we can do this for the title because it depends on Manchester City, who are having a fantastic run", Conte said.

"There are many competitions and we must be very proud to play every game".

Morata is now on to 10 for the campaign in the top flight and another of his compatriots, Marcos Alonso, made the points safe with his fifth as the hour arrived.

"It's the same performance against Everton - against Everton we showed 25 times we had shots on goal but today we scored twice".

Desde la organización reiteraron el pedido a los medios y a la sociedad de tener prudencia y respeto para resguardar la identidad de la joven.

But those efforts proved soon proved in vain when Alonso met Fabregas's in-swinging delivery from the opposite flank to glance into the far corner.

Brighton pushed gamely to get back into the match through Glenn Murray and Shane Duffy late on, but forthcoming matches against Newcastle, Bournemouth and West Brom are likely to have a greater bearing on their fate.

"When you analyse the game, it wasn't dramatically different to what you thought it would be".

Fabregas was at the heart of much of Chelsea's better work and his excellent chipped pass picked out a darting run from Victor Moses in the 26th minute, when the wing-back did not make clean contact and Ryan beat down the shot at his near post. They are doing something extraordinary to win every game and draw only once up to now. "Morata has to pay for not just one dinner but more for Azpi, if they invite me I want to go with them". I needed an extra yard to put the ball in and it worked.

Conte wants to strengthen his squad in January and expressed his admiration for Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal after being questioned about reports linking the Chile midfielder with a move to Chelsea.

The performance of the hosts were unquestionably superior following Conte's half-time words.
