Gov. Scott declares state of emergency in Florida to help Puerto Rico

After Trump took to Twitter on Saturday to bash the mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico, for her "poor leadership" during the disaster, he faced widespread condemnation.

According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, there are now more than 10,000 federal officials on the ground on the island, and 45 percent of customers now have access to drinking water. He said many grocery stores and fast-food restaurants are open.

President Trump arrived in Puerto Rico on Tuesday to assess the damage and relief efforts on the island.

The state is also prepared to accept medical patients who are in need of care. Adding, "And we can all work together to move forward".

For many, however, that isn't enough.

Hurricane Maria was the most devastating hurricane to make land in Puerto Rico in nearly 100 years and the country is still reeling in its wake.
