Motorola plans August 24th event; Moto X4 up next?

13 Agosto 2017

Meet the oft-rumored, as-yet unreleased Moto X4, depicted by Brazil's telecom regulatory agency in some unflattering real-life snapshots and now rendered for the press once again.

The recent press renders of the Moto X4 smartphone found by Android Authority and made headlines on various popular tech blogs.

These fresh glamour shots, though obviously virtually simulated to hide as many of the actual handset's flaws as possible, do a great job showing off the shiny glass back in both "Super Black" and "Sterling Blue".

Motorola is preparing for the launch of its new smartphone, Moto X4. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm processor 630 with integrated graphics Adreno 508, and it will be sold with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB ROM - this version costs 350 euros. This is similar to Samsung which releases phones ranging from cheap to super premium, but different from companies like Apple or Google that release one or two flagship phones per year. Its dimensions are 148.35 x 73.4 x 7.99 mm, and it tips the scales at 163g. The rear camera is a dual one which is 12 MP as well as 8 MP.

It seems like Motorola's strategy is to flood the market with all sorts of Moto phones at varying price points. It's unknown whether all of these features will come to the Moto X4 but it's likely several of these will. The Moto X4 will also be IP68 dust and water resistant, offering additional protection for those with butter fingers. On the other hand, the Asia Pacific region may be getting its hands on a 4GB/64GB model. The camera will also support 4K video recordings.

Beneath the display, we've got the fingerprint sensor while above the display, as rumoured, is the 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1.0µm pixel size, which Motorola says is designed for ultra low-light selfies and will come with an Adaptive Low Light mode. The smartphone is expected to feature a 5.2-inch FHD display with thin bezels on the sides. Are you excited for another addition to Motorola's Moto X range?
