Takeaways from the Green Bay Packers win against Chicago

26 Octubre 2016

The rookie outside linebacker collected a sack in the first half, then exploded past Green Bay right tackle Brian Bulaga as part of stunt with fellow linebacker Willie Young on the third play of the second quarter for a second sack of Aaron Rodgers, one that came with a strip of the football and recovery in the end zone. Without a running game (due to both of their top running backs being out with injuries), Rodgers completed 36 of 59 passes for 326 yards and three touchdowns.

And playing running back for the Green Bay Packers can officially be added to the list of the most unsafe jobs in America, apparently. The Chicago Bears lost another quarterback.

The home side scored again to make the final score 26-10 and bring the Packers' record to 4-2. Barkley, who joined the Bears' practice squad on September 5, was 6 of 15 for 81 yards and two interceptions.

For the fifth time in six games, Chicago (1-6) failed to score more than 17 points. He capped each of the next three drives with touchdown passes. On the defense, Chicago is allowing 23.8 points and 341.2 total yards per game.

Hoyer left the game after getting hit by Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers on an incompletion on third-and-6 from the 50 with 10:21 left in the quarter.

Newly acquired running back Knile Davis did not play on offense during the three-quarters of the game, even after Jackson went to the locker room.

Hoyer recorded 300-plus passing yards with no interceptions in each of his previous four starts - a first in Bears history. Adams made Nelson-like spin moves to break away from cornerbacks for extra yards.

Montgomery, who got the start in the backfield with running backs Lacy (ankle) and James Starks (knee) out, finished with 10 catches for 66 yards, and nine carries for 60 yards. "But a lot of times records like these are achieved in losses when you're way behind", Rodgers about his completions record. But, coming in with throwing to guys you haven't really repped with, I think, is the biggest thing I did.

Bears: Besides Hoyer, RG Kyle Long left in the second quarter with an arm injury.

De'Vante Bausby came up from the practice squad October 10 and started against the Packers after injuries at cornerback to Kyle Fuller, Bryce Callahan and Deoindre' Hall.

"If you lose your starting quarterback, it can be disruptive", Bears coach John Fox said.

"He's got those kind of abilities". They promoted Don Jackson from the practice squad, and he injured his hand after just two carries.
